Changing Account Ownership

You've probably noticed that you are unable to change your name or email address on your "My Details" page. This is to prevent account abandonment and ownership transfer issues. We understand that sometimes accounts are gifted, or are setup on the behalf of someone else and an ownership change needs to take place to keep things running smoothly.

The process is simple and is a two step process for both parties involved.

Current Account Owner:
Login to the Client Area and submit a ticket informing of the desired ownership change. Provide as much information about the transaction as possible. Be sure to include the name and email address of the person you want to take over your account.

New Account Owner:

  1. You must create an account. Visit https://lithiumhosting.com/billing/register.php and create a new user account.
  2. Login to your new account and submit a ticket informing of the desired ownership change. Provide as much information about the transaction as possible. Be sure to include the name and email address of the person that is currently in control of the hosting plan you want to assume ownership of.

Both parties need to designate the other party's role in the ownership change, including their full name.

Once we receive this information, we will transfer the hosting account from one person to the other. This will relieve the old account owner of any financial obligations and any ties to the old hosting plan. The new owner will be responsible for paying all future and outstanding invoices.
