In addition, if you need a different version of PHP, Ruby, or Python, it is likely that Elastic Hosting would be completely sufficient. The PHP Selector offers support for multiple versions and builds of PHP, Python, and Ruby on the same server. However, if you want to run applications in a non-standard environment (node.js, Java), add non-standard Apache mods, use nginx or LiteSpeed, or use non-standard databases such as PerconaDB, a VPS is your best bet.
